Jamshedpur students dance on South Indian classical songs

Jamshedpur, Jan 20: Sangeet o Ankan, an art and dance academy of Jamshedpur and Madrasi Sammelani, Jamshedpur today organized cultural programme at Madrasi Sammelani auditorium.

As part of the event, Purabi Ghosh, social activist, was the chief guest of the evening and G Rammurthy, Chairman, Board of Trustees, Madrasi Sammelani, guest of honour.

28 students performed dance to South Indian classical songs and also to the fusion of devotional songs. 

The program commenced with children performing Ganesh Vandana, followed by Mangalam, Vignarajam baje, Rudrashtakam, Sita Kalyanam, Kalabhairavashtakam, Devi stuti, Tillana.  After this, students showcased their dance prowess on Ayur Dehi, Swagatam Krishna, Mukabala, Black Pin, Deshpachito, ending the evening with Vande Mataram.

The program which captivated the audience was well attended by members of Madrasi Sammelani and Sangeet o Ankan and also parents of performing children.

Sumathi Ranjan and Shiuli Dutta, coordinated the program.

G Shankar, Secretary, Board of Trustees, M S V Siva, President and S Sriram, Secretary of Madrasi Sammelani and Biplab Dutta, Secretary and Sandeep Biswas, Director in Charge of Sangeet o Ankan and many committee members of both the organizations also attended the event.
