Jamshedpur, May 26 : Under the banner of the National Hawker Federation, the street vendors of Mango demonstrated their demands in front of the Deputy Commissioner’s office on Friday.
In this regard, the shopkeepers said that the district administration had destroyed the Mango pavement before settling the shopkeepers. Today the problem of starvation has arisen in front of the street vendors.
About 150 shopkeepers have been uprooted by the district administration, but no effort has been made to resettle them.

Today, on the occasion of World Hawker Day, the shopkeepers registered their protest by observing silence in front of the Deputy Commissioner’s office and demanded from the Deputy Commissioner that the street vendors removed from Mango should be settled at a suitable place, so that their families do not face starvation.
It is noteworthy that on May 24, about 60 roadside shops of Mango were demolished. Earlier in the month of March also 60 to 70 shops were demolished by the district administration. Hundreds of shopkeepers were involved in the protest.
