Jamshedpur, December 16: East Singhbhum district level mining task force meeting was held under the deputy commissioner Vijaya Jadhav at district collectorate.
Several points were discussed in the meeting to stop illegal mining in the district and crack down on illegal transportation. The Deputy Commissioner gave strict instructions to the officials involved in the mining department and the Task Force against illegal mining and transportation. In the meeting, the action taken by the forest department for identifying illegal mining sites in the forest area and getting them filled and for prevention was also reviewed. The Forest Department official said that in the last one month, four FIRs have been registered against illegal mining, while one truck was caught illegally transporting white stone.
In the action taken regarding illegal mining and transportation in the district, 110 heavy vehicles carrying illegally mining consignment have been seized since the month of October, in which vehicles laden with iron ore, white stone, sand, ballast are included. The Deputy Commissioner said that for effective action against illegal businessmen, all the concerned departments should coordinate the action taken at their level and exchange of information.
While reviewing the action taken in the zone and police station area in the month of December, stating that the efforts made to prevent illegal mining and transportation of minerals like sand and stone chips are insufficient, all the COs were given the remaining 15 months of December. Instructions were given to increase the intensity during the day. Instructions were given to stop evasion of revenue and to ensure action against illegal mining businessmen under the provisions.
