Jamshedpur, October 7: As part of 80 years celebration, the alumni association of Bistupur-based St Mary’s English High School organised a day-long basketball competition at the junior block.
The competition organised under the aegis of St Mary’s Alumni Association (popularly known as St Marians) had school ex-students and their existing counterparts merging together to form four teams.
Winners and the runners-up team members were given medals after the competition.
The competition was inaugurated by school principal Father Vernon D’Souza who was the chief guest of the event.
Principal of the St Mary’s English School junior block, Sister Eliza Joseph was the special guest while school sports teacher Sajjad was the guest of honour.
Former national cager Harwinder Singh and Jharkhand state level basketball referee Paramjeet Singh and Harish Kumar helped in the conduct of the competition.
The alumni association has planned a series of activities to commemorate the 80 years of the school, one of the oldest English medium schools in Jamshedpur, like blood donation camp and cricket competition.
The culmination of the celebration would be in the form of a grand reunion of the alumni association scheduled on December 16-17 this year.
