Jamshedpur, June 22: Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) on Monday chaired the monthly crime review meeting in the presence of the Superintendent of Police (Rural), bringing together all Deputy Superintendents of Police, Police Inspectors and Station House Officers from the rural jurisdiction to assess law-and-order preparedness and expedite criminal investigations.
During the meeting, the SSP conducted a comprehensive review of pending cases, incidents of snatching and housebreaking, as well as the execution of warrants and attachment proceedings. Officers were directed to ensure the swift disposal of long-pending cases and intensify efforts against absconding accused persons.
The progress of passport and character verification processes was also examined, with emphasis placed on timely completion of verification-related tasks. The SSP instructed officers to launch intensive anti-narcotics drives and strengthen enforcement measures against the illegal trade and distribution of narcotic substances across rural areas.
With Muharram approaching, detailed guidelines were issued to ensure the festival is observed in a peaceful, harmonious and secure atmosphere. Officers were asked to remain vigilant, maintain close coordination with local communities and take all preventive measures required to preserve communal harmony.
The meeting also focused on crime prevention strategies, particularly measures to curb theft and burglary. The SSP stressed the effective utilization of modern policing platforms, including CCTNS, ITSSO, iRAD, ICJS and e-Sakshya, and directed officials to ensure timely and accurate data entry on these systems.
Reiterating the need for proactive policing, the SSP instructed all field officers to enhance the quality of investigations, strengthen crime-control mechanisms and ensure the time-bound disposal of pending matters. Special emphasis was laid on maintaining law and order, apprehending absconders and adopting a sensitive yet firm approach towards issues concerning public safety and security.
