Jamshedpur, Dec 6: In a proactive move, SSP Kishore Kaushal of Jamshedpur has been actively overseeing and directing police station officers and their subordinates to adopt innovative policing methods. Emphasizing a strong focus on crime control and prevention, SSP Kaushal has urged officers to tackle various criminal activities such as murder, illegal firearm usage, sale of narcotics, dacoity, robbery, snatching, and other property-based incidents.
As part of a comprehensive strategy, SSP Kaushal instructed all police station officers to gather sufficient information about previously charged criminals, their associates, and their modus operandi. Maintaining dossiers on these individuals for continuous surveillance is crucial for the prevention of criminal activities. Officers are encouraged to submit monitoring proposals, proposals for Crime Control Act (CCA), bail cancellation proposals, and entries in goonda books or gang registers as necessary.
To further enhance vigilance, a special initiative has been launched to conduct dual physical verifications of charge-sheeted criminals accused of various crimes in the Jamshedpur city area. A dedicated team comprising 42 members, including Assistant Superintendent of Police for Law and Order, Deputy Superintendent of Police for Main-01, DSPs for CCR and Patmada, along with three Trainee Deputy Superintendents of Police and 17 police station in-charges, has been formed.
This team will work under the guidance of the City Superintendent of Police, East Singhbhum, Jamshedpur. The team’s activities will be reviewed through weekly meetings organized on an area-wise basis, with guidelines provided by the City Superintendent of Police.
The SSP disclosed that a comprehensive list of 2739 charge-sheeted criminals involved in crimes such as Arms Act violations, NDPS Act violations, murder, extortion, robbery, burglary, snatching, vehicle theft, and miscellaneous thefts in the Jamshedpur city area from January 1, 2021, to September 30, 2023, has been compiled. The team will conduct regular surveillance on these individuals, taking necessary actions in accordance with the law.
Additionally, police station in-charges have been instructed to verify the addresses of criminals released on bail, monitor their activities, and submit necessary reports.
