Jamshedpur: Special kids shine at sports fest ‘Hausala 2.0’

Yi Jamshedpur: 250 children from 11 schools participate

Jamshedpur: Young Indians (Yi) Jamshedpur Accessibility Vertical, in collaboration with the Tata Steel Sports Department, organized ‘Hausala 2.0,’ a unique sports festival for specially-abled children at the JRD Tata Sports Complex. The event saw enthusiastic participation from over 250 children representing 11 schools.

Deputy Commissioner Ananya Mittal inaugurated the festival, applauding the confidence and sportsmanship of the participants. He also commended CII YI Jamshedpur for this initiative. The competition featured various track and field events, including sprint races, shot put, and running jumps, where the children showcased their exceptional talents.

In addition to honoring the winners, trainers who played a crucial role in preparing the children were also felicitated. Several dignitaries, including Kaushik Modi, senior member of the YI Jamshedpur Chapter, graced the occasion.

Prominent schools that participated in the festival included Asha Kiran, School of Hope, Jeevika, Bal Vihar, National Association for the Blind, Siddheshwar Deaf and Dumb School, Divya Jyoti, School of Joy, and Cheshire Home.

Notably, the first edition of this festival was held last year at the Sumant Moolgaokar Stadium in Telco. The event continues to serve as a platform to encourage and celebrate the sporting spirit of differently-abled children.
