Jamshedpur: Sonaram Kerai’s murder linked to molestation

Jamshedpur, March 18: Seraikela SP Manish Toppo, on Monday, provided details on the murder of Sonaram Kerai on February 26 in Bondih, Krishnapur industrial area under RIT police station. Amit Sardar alias Danu has been apprehended and remanded to judicial custody in connection with the case. The RIT police recovered from Amit Sardar the motorcycle used in the incident and a bicycle believed to that of the deceased. SP Manish Toppo revealed that the victim, Sonaram, allegedly molested the sister of the accused frequently despite warnings against such actions that finally led to the murder. Sonaram’s mutilated body was discovered in Bondih. According to reports, the accused, Amit Sardar alias Danu, has a history of prior criminal activities.
