Jamshedpur : In a bizarre incident a 25-year-old son of an assistant police inspector was arrested for killing his own son in Sundarnagar.The assailant, Naveen Das alias Yash is a handicapped and also mentally disturbed. He killed his four-year-old son only because his father Suryadev Das would love his grandson more than him. A resident of Durga Puja Maidan area in Sundarnagar, the accused Naveen had taken his son, Priyanshu, the killer did not return home throughout the day and late in the evening he turned up with the dead child in the Sundarnagarpolice station where his father is posted as ASI.
” We are investigating the incident. During the probe the assailant claimed that his son was seriously ill as he took something poisonous. Finding the child motionless, we rushed him to Tata Main Hospital, where the doctors on emergency duty declared that the child was dead. We took the body of the child and sent it to the MGM Medical College mortuary for post-mortem,” said Sundarnagar OC, Upendra Narayan Singh.
Singh said the post-mortem will be carried out under the supervision of an executive magistrate and vediography by a team of three member medical board.
” We havearrested Naveen Das as in the name of taking the child for moving around since the morning, he had taken him near a canal and had killed him,” said the OC.
The OC said the assailant not only strangulated his own son to death, but also had thrusted stone in his mouth before rushing his body to the Sundarnagarpolice station.
Singh said that they arrested Naveen after his wife,Ranju Devi had lodged an FIR alleging her husband to have killed her son late last night. According to Ranju Devi, her husband was unemployed and would always fight with her and also with her father-in-law as well as mother-in-law. She claimed that he had even tried to kill her father-in-law by poisoning in the past.
