Jamshedpur: Soaring mercury leads private schools to change time

Jamshedpur: In view of the soaring mercury, private schools of the city have changed the school timing with effect from Tuesday (June 19). The announcement has been notified to all parents by the schools. As per the amended schedule, schools will now open at 6.30 am. For junior students, the schools will break at 11.30 am while for seniors the classes would run till 11.50 am. The schools which have issued notices in this regard include Loyola School, MNPS, Rajendra Vidyalaya and Dayanand Public School.

Met department sources said monsoon showers are expected to hit the city on 21st June. Till then, an increase in humidity and heat will take place due to cloudy weather. Today the temperature shot beyond 41 degree C.

As a result of the sultry weather, students, office goers and workers are compelled to brave the heat every day with no respite in sight. Drizzle at few places failed to give any relief to the people.
