Jamshedpur SIR-2026: Electoral Roll Revision Begins in East Singhbhum

Jamshedpur: The Special Intensive Revision (SIR)-2026 campaign for the electoral roll officially launched across East Singhbhum district on Tuesday. The intensive campaign will run for a full month, spanning from June 30 to July 29. Its primary goal is to establish an error-free, completely updated, and inclusive electoral roll.

Deputy Commissioner-cum-District Election Officer Rajiv Ranjan inspected several urban polling stations to personally review the roll-out of the exercise.

During his visit, Ranjan evaluated ongoing enumeration work, reviewed initial booth arrangements, and interacted directly with Booth Level Officers (BLOs). He directed the election staff to execute the campaign with absolute transparency, impartiality, and efficiency, strictly following the guidelines of the Election Commission of India.

Ranjan issued a series of directives to field teams to ensure the program’s success:

• Total Coverage: BLOs must ensure they register or verify every single eligible voter during the revision window.
• Meticulous Record-Keeping: Staff must maintain all forms and registration data transparently and in strict compliance with prescribed election rules.
• Voter Assistance: Field officers must actively guide citizens through the paperwork and verification steps.

To avoid delays, the District Election Officer instructed BLOs to coordinate directly with their respective Electoral Registration Officers (EROs) and Assistant Electoral Registration Officers (AEROs).
