Jamshedpur DD Bar Murder: Bistupur SHO Suspended For Negligence

Jamshedpur: Jamshedpur Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Piyush Pandey has suspended Bistupur Police Station In-charge (SHO) Alok Dubey in connection with the Double Down (DD) Pub murder case. The disciplinary action follows intense scrutiny and growing questions regarding police negligence and operational lapses surrounding the murder.

The case involves the fatal stabbing of two youths outside the bar, which falls under the Bistupur police jurisdiction. Himanshu Singh died in the assault, and Pratyush Kumar was critically wounded and is still in the hospital; both are residents of Adityapur. SSP Pandey suspended the officer following an internal departmental review of the incident and the station’s subsequent handling of the case.

New Station Head Appointed Amid Police Reshuffle

To restore law and order and streamline the ongoing murder investigation, authorities have appointed Police Inspector Niranjan Kumar as the new SHO of the Bistupur Police Station.

The suspension triggered a wider administrative reshuffle among the city’s police leadership:

• Burmamines Police Station: Kumar Saryu Anand, previously the Golmuri Traffic Station In-charge, takes over as the new Station In-charge.
• Golmuri Traffic Police Station: Mohammed Kuduus moves from his post heading the Bistupur Cyber Police Station to take over as the new Traffic Station In-charge.

Crackdown on Police Negligence Escalates

This suspension marks the second major disciplinary action senior officials have taken regarding the DD Bar case. Prior to removing the SHO, the SSP had already suspended three members of the patrolling team who were deployed at the spot when the crime occurred.

Previously Suspended Personnel: Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) Ratan Kumar Das, ASI Rajesh Kumar Ranjan, and Constable Manoj Kumar.

Senior police officials reiterate that a rigorous investigation into the murder is actively underway. Authorities emphasize that they will penalize anyone found guilty of procedural lapses or complicity as the investigation unfolds.
