Jamshedpur, Jan 20: The Sikh community has expressed its gratitude towards Prime Minister Narendra Modi for recognizing self-sacrifice of the four Sahibzadas of Guru Gobind Singh ji by marking December 26 as Veer Bal Diwas.
On Thursday, a delegation of Sikh community led by Sardar Shailendra Singh, president of Jharkhand Gurdwara Management Committee, met former Chief Minister and National Vice President of Bharatiya Janata Party Raghubar Das at his residence.
The delegation thanked the Prime Minister for considering the sacrifices of Baba Ajit Singh, Baba Jujhar Singh, Baba Zorawar Singh and Baba Fateh Singh as symbols of national importance and nationalism. Their sacrifice has been respected in the true sense and they have named it as Veer Bal Diwas, but understanding the sentiments of the Sikhs, it should be renamed as Veer Sahibzada Diwas.
On this occasion, Das said that after the independence of the country, no government had sincerely understood their contribution. Modi has saluted the sacrifice of the entire family of Guru Gobind Singh for the unity of the nation, nationalism, Sikhism and Hinduism and protecting human values. Every year on 26th December, it has been resolved to celebrate Veer Bal Diwas at the national level. The Sikh community and 3.5 crore people of Jharkhand express their gratitude to the Prime Minister.
On the occasion, Chandrashekhar Mishra, Gunjan Yadav, Gurdeep Singh Pappu, Harvinder Singh Mantu, Harjit Singh Bittu, Jasvir Singh Soni, Gurudev Singh Raja, Kulwant Singh Bunty, Gurcharan Singh Billa, Satbir Singh Somu, Amarjit Singh Raja, Shinde Singh, Chanchal Bhatia , Inder Singh Inder, Manjit Singh Gill, Kulwinder Singh, Harjinder Singh, Gurjit Singh Pintu, Amardeep Singh Bhatia etc. were present.
