Jamshedpur, May 26: A court here granted bail to Vijay Kumar, accused of firing at Sido Kanho Maidan in Bagbera here on Thursday.
Sources said the accused had had an altercation with one Kanhaiya Singh, member of a local gang, over a land dispute on 11th February last. Both Vijay and Kanhaiya opened fire on each other. A total of 12 rounds were fired by them. Police had arrested eight persons from both sides and sent them to jail. Separate cases were filed by both sides in this connection.
According to police, Kanhaiya wanted to purchase the land of Sheela Devi, mother-in-law of Monu Singh, without their consent. This led to the firing incident, police said.
