Jamshedpur: Sendra festival at Dalma on May 1, forest dept appeal to tribals against hunting animals 

Jamshedpur, April 26. The Forest Department organized an orientation program for Eco Development Committees on Wednesday at its office in Mango.

Through this, appealed not to hunt wild animals during Sendra festival.

Chief conservator of forest Wild Life S.R Natesh, Dalma DFO Abhishek Kumar and Ranger Dinesh Chandra told the people the importance of wild animals living in the forest.

A film related to this was also shown to the people through the projector. The CCF said that the people of the tribal society should celebrate the hunting festival as a tradition and worship, but do not hunt wild animals as this will only harm human beings in the long run.

The tradition of celebrating Sendra festival is very old, so this tradition cannot be stopped. But a lot of work is being done on not being a victim of wild animals. He told that there has been a significant reduction in the hunting of animals during the festival as compared to earlier. On the occasion, Dalma DFO Abhishek Kumar told that a continuous awareness campaign is being conducted among the villagers so that they do not fall prey to wild animals.

Films related to the importance of forests and wild animals are being shown to people through projectors in the villages of Dalma. Street plays are also being organized at many places. Due to the constant awareness of the Forest Department, there has been a decrease in the number of wild animals hunted during Shikar Parv.

It should be informed that on May 1, people of tribal society will celebrate Shikar Parv in Dalma.

Tribal from five states are likely to gather in Dalma. After worshiping on 30th April, they will climb Dalma for hunting. The Forest Department has also geared up to stop the tribals. To stop them, check posts will be made at various places. The forest department team will do patrolling in Dalma.

Many DFOs will also be posted in Dalma.
