Jamshedpur, Oct 30: Seeds have it easy on Day 1 of the ongoing Beldih Club AITA Men’s National Ranking 1 Lac Tennis Tournament 2023, being held at the sand-clay courts of the Beldih Club.
Local lad Priyaansh Agarwal had a humiliating defeat in the opening rounds of the Men’s Singles event and in the hands of top seeded Ritabrata Sarkar of Bengal as the latter won by 6-0,6-0. Jharkhand’s Sai Krishna Ganta also failed to live up to the expectations as he went down against Odisha’s Swostik Satyakam Pradhan.
Finalist of the last professional prize money tournament held at the Beldih Club, in the year 2019, Abhinansu Borthakur also had an easy day as he drubbed statemate Divyesh Rampuria by a dominating 6-1,6-0. Bengal’s Md Fardeen, seeded 4 in the draw also joined hands with the other seeds to enter the pre quarter finals as he dropped a single game to defeat Shagnik Bose by an easy 6-0,6-1.
Matches will be held from 08:00 am tomorrow.
