Jamshedpur, July 9: All schools in Jamshedpur will remain closed on Wednesday, July 10, following a directive from the District Magistrate-cum-Deputy Commissioner Karn Satyarthi. The decision was taken in view of the India Meteorological Department’s (IMD) forecast of severe and continuous rainfall in the region over the next 24 hours.
As per the official order, all government, private, and minority schools up to Class 12 will remain closed for the day. “In light of the IMD alert and the potential threat to the safety of students, a holiday has been declared for all schools on July 10 as a precautionary measure and in public interest,” stated the Deputy Commissioner.
To ensure that students’ academic schedules are not disrupted, schools have been instructed to conduct online classes during the closure.
The district administration is closely monitoring the weather situation and will issue further guidelines if necessary. Authorities have also warned that non-compliance with the order will attract strict action under relevant provisions of the Disaster Management Act, 2005.
