Jamshedpur: A sudden drop in temperature accompanied by a change in weather patterns has affected the city, making Monday night the coldest of the season. According to meteorologists, the brisk wind has further intensified the chill, and a further dip in temperatures is anticipated due to the cold front.
Private schools in Jamshedpur have adjusted their schedules in response to the temperature drop. Changes in the timing of school hours have been implemented for the convenience of students and parents. Kerala Samajam Model School will now operate from 7:55 AM to 1:50 PM, whereas it used to run from 7:20 AM to 1:40 PM. Similarly, DBMS Kadma High School will operate from 8 AM to 2 PM instead of the previous timing of 7:40 AM to 1:40 PM.
Dayanand Public School will now operate from 7:55 AM to 1:50 PM. Loyola School Telco’s new schedule is from 7:55 AM to 2 PM, while Gulmohar High School will be in session from 7:55 AM to 2 PM. Vidya Bharati Chinmaya Vidyalaya Telco will operate from 8 AM to 2 PM, and Shiksha Niketan High School will follow a schedule from 8 AM to 2 PM. KPS Kadma’s operational hours will be from 7:50 AM to 2 PM, and Vivek Vidyalaya will run from 7:45 AM to 1:45 PM.
Monday morning saw a brief appearance of sunlight, but the impact of the heat was minimal, with most people opting to stay indoors due to the chilly atmosphere. As the evening set in, the temperature plummeted again, causing discomfort for commuters during their evening travels. The maximum temperature recorded on Monday was 26.4 degrees Celsius, while the night temperature dropped to 11.4 degrees Celsius. The humidity was 70% in the morning, decreasing to 64% in the evening.
The Meteorological Department predicts that the next two days will witness a further decrease in minimum temperatures, possibly reaching as low as 10 degrees Celsius.
