Jamshedpur, August 11: The police have arrested Jai Shri Tiwari, a school van driver, for the sexual abuse of a three-and-a-half-year-old girl in Mango, Jamshedpur. The girl is nursery student at Kerala Public School Mango. The vehicle involved has been seized. City SP Rishabh Garg confirmed the arrest and the seizure of the van.
The case came to light after the girl’s family reported the abuse to the authorities. Acting on the complaint, the SSP formed a team to investigate the matter under the Standard Operating Procedures (SOP). The investigation, conducted under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act, led to Tiwari’s arrest.
According to reports, Tiwari, a resident of Mango Daiguttu, would abuse the girl during her morning rides in the school van before returning home. Upon learning of the abuse, the girl’s family informed the police, prompting a swift response. Tiwari has been sent to judicial custody while the investigation continues.
