Jamshedpur: About 45 per cent teenagers in urban areas of East Singhbhum are yet to be covered with Covid vaccination. In order to expedite the drive,  a meeting was convened with the principals of private schools of urban areas under the chairmanship of Senior In-charge Vaccination Cell-cum-SDM Dhalbhum Sandeep Kumar Meena at Collectorate Auditorium, Jamshedpur.

In the meeting, discussion was held on speeding up the vaccination program for the age group of 15-18 in urban areas and the problems being faced in its implementation were also discussed with the principals. The Senior In-charge Vaccination Cell said that in rural areas, the target of 80 percent in the above age group has been achieved so far, while in urban areas only 55 percent children have got vaccinated.

He said that there will be a possibility of getting infected while attending offline classes without taking the vaccine, so parents should definitely send this message about how important it is to take the vaccine. Children who have not yet completed three months, who have been free from corona infection, were given clear instructions not to vaccinate, as well as if any parent does not want to vaccinate their child due to any disease, then they should demand a doctor’s prescription.

The Senior In-charge Vaccination Cell said that there are successful examples of many schools in the district where 100% children in the age group of 15-18 years have taken the vaccine, in such a situation, the parents, while cooperating with the district administration in this noble work, should also encourage their children. To motivate them to vaccinate so that 100 percent target can be achieved in every school.

At the same time, he told that in the month of March itself, the vaccination program of children in the age group of 12-15 is going to start, so keep your preparations well in advance. The children, who have come for the second dose, have been instructed to get vaccinated on time.

SDO suggested giving option to the students of class 9th and 11th to take the exam in online or offline mode after attending offline classes for one month. The Senior In-charge Vaccination Cell said that the pre board of 10th or 12th is to be done in offline mode only, in such a situation it is necessary to ensure that 100% vaccination of children in the age group of 15-18 years should be ensured so that the chances of children getting infected with corona infection are negligible. are.
