Jamshedpur, June 28: The post of Scholarship Minister is being introduced in Bal Sansad programs run in government schools across the state. This initiative of Deepak Birua, Minister of Scheduled Tribe, Scheduled Caste, and Backward Class Welfare Department, aimed to raise scholarship awareness among students.

One of the newly appointed Scholarship Ministers was Janaki Kumari, a student at a government school in East Singhbhum. Janaki was actively making her peers aware of available scholarships and ensuring that all students in her school received the financial aid they were entitled to. Similar appointments were being made in government schools statewide.

Minister Deepak Birua has also instructed district Deputy Commissioners to organize school-level camps to expedite the issuance of Aadhaar cards for all students, link Aadhaar cards to bank accounts, complete KYC processes, and issue caste and income certificates online.

The role of the Scholarship Minister included providing accurate and up-to-date information about scholarship eligibility criteria, application deadlines, and required documents to all students. They must ensure that all scholarship applications were completed and submitted, follow up on any rejections, and take corrective measures. Scholarship Ministers work closely with teachers and school administrators to identify eligible students and assist them in applying for scholarships. They were also responsible for maintaining a record of application submissions and ensuring the process was completed by following up with students.

This initiative aimed to make scholarships more accessible and ensure that no eligible student missed out on financial aid opportunities.
