Jamshedpur, Sep 2: A delegation of Singhbhum Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI) met Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP), East Singhbhum, Prabhat Kumar, on Friday and registered protest against an adverse report sent by Sakchi police to Dhalbhum SDM.
The traders said the Sakchi police had sent a list of 54 traders in a report to the SDM on the basis of which a case was registered by the administration under Section 107 and 116 (3) of the Criminal Procedure Code.
Leading the delegation, Chamber president Vijay Anand Moonka and general secretary Manav Kedia said the traders were booked without any fault. Many traders who are no more or were out of the town were also included in the list by police, they said.
The SSP said the district police was not working under malafide and assured to investigate the case himself and see if there was any fault in police investigation. He said the traders would be provide security by police.
Chamber members also met Deputy Commissioner Vijaya Jadhav who said no unwarranted action would be taken against them.
