Mail News Service

Jamshedpur, Dec 5: A major accident was narrowly averted on Friday afternoon near the Hathi-Ghoda Temple in the Sakchi police station area, after a trailer suddenly went out of control and rammed into two parked cars and a motorcycle.

The trailer, headed from Sakchi towards Mango, was moving at normal speed when the driver reportedly lost control on reaching the temple stretch.

The vehicle swerved sharply and crashed into two cars parked along the roadside, leaving both severely damaged.

A nearby motorcycle was also hit, resulting in substantial damage.

Fortunately, no one was inside the vehicles at the time of the incident, preventing what could have been a serious tragedy.

Police officials said that had the vehicles been occupied, the impact could have caused significant casualties.

Sakchi police arrived promptly, cleared the damaged trailer from the road, and restored traffic flow.

Officers inspected the site and began an investigation to determine whether the loss of control stemmed from mechanical failure or driver negligence.

The trailer driver is being questioned.

Local residents pointed out that the road near Hathi-Ghoda Temple has a narrow curve, making it prone to accidents, especially involving heavy vehicles.

They have urged authorities to strengthen traffic management and safety measures in the area.
