Brawl At Bistupur’s Double Down Pub: Youth Stabbed In Stomach After Opposing Eve-Teasing

A late-night party turned into a violent battleground at the Double Down (DD) Pub and Bar under the Bistupur police station jurisdiction on Saturday night. A fierce clash erupted between two groups after some youths objected to the eve-teasing of young women, leaving one person critically stabbed and another injured.

According to reports, the incident occurred around midnight on Saturday. A group of young men and women were partying at the Double Down Pub. While they were on the dance floor, a few youths from another group allegedly began making indecent remarks and molesting the women in the group. When the women’s companions strongly objected to the harassment, a heated argument broke out between the two factions, quickly escalating into a physical brawl.

Bouncers Intervene, Clash Spills Outside

As the situation inside the pub deteriorated rapidly, the bouncers intervened and ejected both groups from the premises. However, the eviction failed to defuse the tension.

Once outside the pub, the altercation resumed with greater intensity. During the secondary clash, a youth from one group pulled out a knife and stabbed a young man from the opposing side directly in the abdomen. Another youth also sustained injuries during the physical melee.

Victims Identified; Police Investigation Underway

The injured individuals have been identified as Himanshu Singh and Pratyush Singh, both residents of neighboring Adityapur.

Upon receiving information about the bloody clash, a team from the Bistupur police station rushed to the spot. The police immediately rushed the injured youths to Tata Main Hospital (TMH) for treatment, where they are currently undergoing medical care.

The police have taken one youth involved in the brawl into custody and are currently interrogating him. A formal investigation has been launched into the entire matter as officials attempt to piece together the exact sequence of events and establish the definitive cause behind the violent escalation.
