Jamshedpur, June 10: The election for the post of Pradhan (Head) of Sakchi Gurudwara Prabandhak Committee will be held on Sunday, June 12. One of the two candidates in the fray the post of Pradhan, Nishan Singh, a resident of Sakchi Gurudwara Basti, while speaking to the media said, “Service to our community, our Sangat, is my priority and together with the development of our Sakchi Gurudwara, I will concentrate on social and religious work. I am confident that I will win the election for the post of Pradhan as people have faith on me.”
He further stated that his team had prepared a blueprint for the areas of development of the Sakchi Gurudwara. “The development and changes, if our Sangat gives us a chance, will be witnessed by our community. As I said the sole objective of my team is to develop the Gurudwara and service to our Sikh community. I had already released the manifesto in view of this election with the help of my team and I promise through the media that I will implement each and every announcement written in the manifesto.”
Nishan Singh said that included in the manifesto was regular classes would be held every Sunday in the hall of Deori Sahib to teach Gurmukhi and Kirtan to Sikh children.
“The Guru Darbar of the Gurudwara will be fully air conditioned. The school fees of such Sikh children whose fathers had passed away will be waived. Play school will be introduced for children. Emphasis will be on the infrastructure of Modern English School and more enrolment of children. A board will be constituted to ensure recognition of Modern English School. We will pay special attention to dress code of Granthis and those of other Sevaks. Their salaries too will be enhanced. All possible help will be offered for the marriage of girls from very poor families. Dough kneading and Roti making machines will be installed at the Langar Ghar. Possible exemption will be given for booking grounds and halls for marriage purposes in the Sakchi Gurudwara Sahib.”
