Jamshedpur: Safari Royals, Nano Warriors win Shuttle Badminton Tourney

Jamshedpur, Aug 9:  The exciting “Inter-Team Shuttle Badminton & Table Tennis Tournament” for both Men and Women reached its exhilarating conclusion at Telco Club, Telco on Thursday. The tournaments were skillfully organized by the Tata Motors Sports Department.

In the women’s category of the Shuttle Badminton tournament, the final match saw Safari Royals pitted against Indigo Fighters. A fierce contest unfolded between the two teams, with Safari Royals emerging triumphant in a gripping encounter, securing victory in two consecutive sets. The coveted title of the Best Player of the tournament in the Women’s Category was bestowed upon Ruth Saron Perkins of Safari Royals.

On the other side, the men’s category of the Shuttle Badminton event showcased a final clash between Tata Cummins and Nano Warriors. Nano Warriors’ players displayed remarkable dominance on the court, ultimately securing the victory in a hard-fought match that concluded in 2:1 sets, covering the 1st & 2nd Single events. Tejas Saha of Nano Warriors was honored as the Best Player of the tournament in the Men’s Category.

Table Tennis action also saw its culmination with Indigo Fighters seizing victory in the men’s category. The final showdown witnessed Indigo Fighters competing against Nano Warriors, with Indigo Fighters sealing the championship in two consecutive sets, featuring the 1st Single & Doubles matches. Ravi Sharma’s outstanding performance on behalf of Indigo Fighters earned him the prestigious title of Best Player of the tournament.

Chief Guest, VN Singh, Head – Administration & Security, Tata Motors, along with the esteemed Guest of Honor, Rajat Kumar Singh, Head – Town Administration, Tata Motors, graced the occasion. They felicitated the tournament’s victorious teams and players, recognizing their exceptional skills and sportsmanship.

The tournament not only showcased intense competition but also underscored the spirit of camaraderie and athleticism among the participants. The event was a testament to the commitment of Tata Motors in fostering a culture of sports and healthy competition.
