Jamshedpur Rotary Clubs celebrate 117th anniversary with Palasbani villagers

Jamshedpur, Feb 25: The 117th anniversary of the establishment of Rotary Club was jointly celebrated by Rotary Clubs of Jamshedpur, Steel City, Dalma and Midtown members with the villagers of Palasbani Panchayat. A program organized as Rotary Community Day, included sports competitions for children. The Rotary officials presented sports material to the winners. Earlier, Palasbani villagers welcomed the combined Rotary team in traditional manner. To commence the day’s celebration, the National Anthem was sung following which tribal dances and songs were presented. Rotary members could not restrain themselves from joining the dancers. The program was organized at Rotary Miscellaneous Service Center in Palasbani.  Rotary DG Pratim Banerjee stressed on the need and importance of mutual cooperation of Rotary and communities, so that the benefits of Rotary’s services could be reached out to maximum people. Rotarian Dr Amlan Swain informed the villagers about the importance of cleanliness and vaccination. The Wash station built by Rotary Club Jamshedpur was also inaugurated by DG Pratim Banerjee. The program was conducted by Rotarian Mona Bahadur. A cake was cut and distributed among all at the conclusion of the day’s programme. Prominent Club members including Rotary Bihar-Jharkhand District Governor Rotarian Pratim Banerjee, Suchhanda Banerjee, Aloka Nanda Bakshi, Shweta Chand, Madhumita Santra, Jalpa Parekh, Yuvraj Ranpara, Shiva Rao, Dr R Bharat, Dr KT Bhatena, GR Murthy, Panchayat head Jagdish Singh and others were present during the worldwide celebration of Rotary Clubs’ 117th Foundation Day. The occasion was observed as, ‘Rotary Social Service Day.’
