Jamshedpur: ROB construction at Barigora and Govindpur to begin soon, says DRM

Jamshedpur, Sep 13: Jamshedpur MP Bidyut Baran Mahato and Divisional Rail Manager (DRM) of Chakradharpur Rail Division Vijay Kumar Sahu visited Barigora Railway Crossing No. 138 and Govindpur Railway Crossing No. 137 on Tuesday in connection with the proposed Railway Over Bridge (ROB) construction at the two places. They also visited Govindpur Railway Halt for work expansion and inspection.

The DRM, accompanied by several senior Railway officials, said the Railway had given approval to the proposed ROBs at Barigora and Govindpur and that the construction work would begin soon. He said the state government would construct the approach road at both places while the Railway would construct the ROBs.

The DRM informed the local residents that the foundation stone would be laid soon for the ROB projects after which the work would begin on a fast pace. He said land acquisition was pending for the Govindpur ROB, adding further that he had directed the Railway officials concerned to ensure speedy work.

During visit to the Govindpur Halt, the MP asked the DRM to upgrade it and enhance passenger amenities. He also suggested making a loop line here to ensure stoppage of passenger trains at Govindpur railway station and provide the status of Railway station to Govindpur Railway halt. The DRM gave his consent on the said demands and proposals and said work would soon begin in this direction. He also directed the Railway officials concerned to provide appropriate passenger amenities at Govindpur. He assured to remove various roadblocks in the way of ROB construction.

The MP and DRM said the ROB work would start soon and further informed that the underpass bridge at Gadra would be started after construction of a road within a month. The MP assured that the Govindpur-Rahargora road would also be built soon.
