Jamshedpur, Mar 27: In a significant step towards infrastructural development in the Potka Assembly constituency, MLA Sanjib Sardar met Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren to discuss the urgent need for road widening, strengthening and four-laning of key roads in the region. The meeting focused on improving connectivity in Potka, Dumaria and Jamshedpur blocks, where poor road conditions have been causing difficulties for residents and hampering economic activities.
During the discussion, MLA Sanjib Sardar highlighted the dilapidated state of several important roads and urged the Chief Minister to take immediate action to facilitate smooth transportation. He pointed out that the worsening road conditions were not only causing inconvenience to the public but also negatively impacting trade and commerce in the area. Responding to these concerns, CM Hemant Soren assured that the government is committed to the all-round development of Jharkhand, with rural road expansion and strengthening being a top priority. “The widening and strengthening of roads in rural areas are crucial and our government is actively working to improve connectivity across the state,” he stated.
Expressing his appreciation for the CM’s proactive approach, MLA Sanjiv Sardar praised his leadership and commitment to development. “For the first time since independence, Potka is witnessing a new era of infrastructural progress under Chief Minister Hemant Soren’s visionary leadership. With the expansion of road networks, transportation in rural areas will become easier and economic activities will gain momentum,” he said.
During the meeting, specific proposals were discussed for the widening and strengthening of nine major roads in the constituency. These include:
1. Haldipokhar-Kowali Main Road: Expansion and strengthening from Gangadih Chowk via Khairpal to Debli Chowk, Upper Amda, Amlatola, Podsagoda Chowk, Gobaraghoda, Sidadi and Manpur, extending up to Dabanki Chowk on the Hata-Jaduguda main road.
2. Kowali-Dumaria Road: Widening and strengthening from Kowali-Dumaria main road to Kashiyabera, Narda via Kundrukocha up to the Odisha border.
3. Gangadih-Poradiha-Harina Road: Expansion from Gangadih through Janamdiha, Pandrasholi to Harina-Bunudiha via Bodampoot and Bhalki.
4. Govindpur-Jaduguda Road: Strengthening from Neem Pura Chowk to Kuliayana Ghat, extending to Khadia Colony.
5. Khairbani-Musabani-Dumaria Road: Widening and strengthening from Khairbani main road via Bankishol to Musabani and Dumaria main road.
6. Marangsongha-Narsinghbahal Road: Expansion from Marangsongha to Narsinghbahal, reaching Satvakhra and Lukapani.
7. Tatanagar Station-Karandih-Sundernagar Road: Widening and creation of a divider along this route.
8. Hata-Tata Road via Bhuridih-Hakigoda: Strengthening and expansion of the road from Bhuridih to Hakigoda, extending through Primary School Bhitaradih and Madhudih, finally connecting to the Tata-Hata main road.
9. Jamshedpur-Hata four-laning: Expansion of the existing road from Khasmahal to Sundernagar.
The Chief Minister assured that the government would soon initiate the necessary steps for these projects to ensure smooth and well-connected transportation networks. The development of these roads is expected to significantly enhance the ease of movement for residents, promote local businesses and support overall regional growth.
