Jamshedpur, May 27: Lakshi Nayek (59), a resident of Dingasai village in the Pathri Panchayat area of Baharagora block, East Singhbhum district, passed away last night due to injuries sustained in a road accident.
Reports indicate that Lakshi was returning from Baharagora market to her village on a bike when the accident occurred. Near Kenwaladinga on the Baharagora Chowringhee main road, her bike slipped, resulting in her sustaining injuries. Local residents and the 108 ambulance service transported her to the Community Health Center in Baharagora.
Despite receiving treatment, Lakshi’s condition worsened, prompting her family to transfer her to PRM Medical College in Baripada via the 108 ambulance service. However, she was declared dead by doctors during the course of treatment.
Following the post-mortem conducted in Baripada, Lakshi’s family returned to their village on Monday afternoon to perform her last rites.
