Jamshedpur residents still deprived of amenities: Saryu Roy

Jamshedpur, Aug 8: Jamshedpur East MLA Saryu Roy Monday iterated his demand for basic civic amenities for the people of the city by Tata Steel.

Addressing a meeting of members of Bagunnagar Civil Society, he said the city people were still deprived of their rightful.

“I have spoken to the Deputy Commissioner of East Singhbhum regarding implementation of Jusco lease agreement. A joint committee of the DC, Jamshedpur Notified Area Committee (JNAC) and Tata Steel Limited has been formed on my initiative. I have also raised the issue of civic amenities for the city people in the Jharkhand Assembly.”

Roy demanded quality water supply from Moharda Water Supply Project on the lines of water supply by Tata Steel UISL. “Due to lack of vision and vested interests, local residents were long deprived of the benefits of Moharda water supply Project. After much effort, the situation has improved a lot. A detailed project report is being prepared for building a big settling pond before the water pump house,” he said.

Roy asked the citizens of Jamshedpur to contact him directly in case of any civic issues. He also invited suggestions from citizens on public issues.
