Jamshedpur, Dec 3: Ahead of the Jharkhand government’s decision on Tata Steel’s lease renewal, a delegation representing 15 panchayats in Bagbera, Kitadih and Ghaghidih submitted a memorandum to Potka MLA Sanjib Sardar, demanding permanent civic facilities under Tata Steel’s CSR funds.
Led by former district councilor Kishore Yadav, the delegation highlighted that despite being just 3–5 km from the Tata Steel plant, residents, including permanent and contractual employees, face inadequate drinking water, sanitation and electricity. They requested that approximately 1 lakh people across these panchayats receive permanent provision of essential civic amenities.
MLA Sanjib Sardar assured that the issue would be raised in the upcoming Assembly session before Chief Minister Hemanth Soren for government intervention. Kishore Yadav further stated that the delegation plans to meet the CM directly to push for a long-term solution. Local leaders, including Mayawati Tudu, Sunil Gupta and Raju Thakur, were present during the meeting.
