Jamshedpur Republic Day: Rehearsal  Parade begins, 6 contingents participate 


Jamshedpur, Jan 21: The parade rehearsal for the district level main function to be held at Gopal Maidan on the occasion of Republic Day started from today at Golmuri Police Line Ground. Six units of paramilitary and police force participated in the rehearsal, in which 1 unit JAP-6, 2 units District Police Force, 1 unit Auxiliary Police and 1-1 unit boy/girl NCC were included. The parade rehearsal on 21st and 22nd January will be held in Police Line, whereas on 23rd and 24th January the parade rehearsal will be held at Gopal Maidan.

 Parade rehearsal is being done under the direction of Sergeant Major Dharmendra Ram and Ranjit Kumar. On January 24, the full dress rehearsal of the parade will be done at Gopal Maidan, which will be jointly inspected by the Deputy Commissioner and the Senior Superintendent of Police.

Practice session of security personnel started for organizing the Republic Day main function under the chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner Vijaya Jhadav. The Deputy Commissioner said that the district level main function will be held at Gopal Maidan, Bistupur. She directed authorities to strictly follow the guidelines of Covid-19.

The Deputy Commissioner directed the use of the National Flag of Khadi cloth in the district level main function and all government offices.

All the contingents participating in the parade were instructed by Senior Superintendent of Police to attend the parade and rehearse the parade complying with the rules of Covid-19.

The contingents of the parade will be rehearsed on 21, 22, 23 and 24 January. On January 24, the full dress rehearsal of the parade will be held at Gopal Maidan, which will be jointly supervised by Deputy Commissioner and Senior Reserve Superintendent.

DC said various sub-committees had been formed to discuss cultural programmes to be chalked out in connection with the Republic Day.

The city will be wrapped up in a multi-layered security chain on the eve of the Republic Day. Cadets of NCC, JAP, CRPF, RAF and district police would participate in the parade. The DC has also decided to felicitate all the participants in the parade.

Police will issue instructions to the general public against carrying any inflammable items, bags and other such things into the parade ground. Spectators would be subjected to police checking before gaining entry into the grounds.
