Jamshedpur, April 7: The literary world mourned the loss of esteemed Urdu writer and poet, Dr. Rashid Anwar Rashid, who passed away on Sunday at 8 am while undergoing treatment at a hospital in Mumbai. Dr. Rashid, an Associate Professor at Aligarh Muslim University’s Department of Urdu, was known for his prolific contributions to Urdu literature. His demise marked the end of an era in Urdu literature.

Dr. Rashid Anwar Rashid had a profound connection with Jamshedpur, serving as the guiding force at the literary institute Urdu Bhawan. His literary prowess extended beyond his years, evident in his numerous articles, poetry collections, and books in Urdu.

Having authored over 25 books and edited several magazines, Dr. Rashid’s influence on Urdu literature was significant. He left behind a legacy of translations, research papers, and invaluable literary contributions. His dedication to Urdu literature earned him recognition and honors from various institutions.
