Jamshedpur: Renowned keyboard player Swapan Tiwari passes away

Jamshedpur, June 25: The music community in Jharkhand, Bihar, Bengal, Odisha, and Jamshedpur is mourning the loss of veteran keyboard player Swapan Tiwari (49) from Steel City, who passed away due to a cardiac arrest. His sudden demise has left music lovers in a state of grief.

Swapan Tiwari breathed his last on Sunday morning while receiving treatment at Tata Main Hospital. The final rites were conducted at Swarnarekha Burning Ghat in Bhuiyandih at 1 pm. His body was brought from his residence in Govindpur to Swarnarekha Burning Ghat for the last rites, where not only the city’s prominent artists and musicians but also members of various social organizations paid their respects.

The day before his demise, Swapan Tiwari had participated in a cultural program at Motilal Nehru Public School in Sakchi. According to the city’s music guru Anil Kumar Singh, he appeared to be in good health until Saturday evening. However, after the program, he experienced chest pain around midnight and was immediately admitted to Tata Motors Hospital. Upon referral, he was transferred to Tata Main Hospital, where he unfortunately passed away during treatment due to heart failure. Suman Da, a prominent ghazal singer from the city, revealed that Swapan Tiwari is survived by his wife, a daughter, and an elderly father. He described Swapan Tiwari as a person of exceptional talent and humble demeanour.  Swapan was working as a music teacher at Kerala Public School (KPS), Kadma.
