Jamshedpur records zero Covid cases after 13 days’ gap

Jamshedpur, Oct 31: No new Covid-19 case was detected out of a total of 2836 tests conducted on Sunday, October 31.

This has come as a sigh of relief for the people of Jamshedpur as zero positive cases have been detected in the city after a span of 13 days, stated the district administration.

Earlier on October 17, zero cases were detected of a total of 4185 samples tested. Meanwhile Jamshedpur recorded 46 new cases within a span of 10 days from October 21 to 30.

Total active cases in the city remain at 25.

Civil Surgeon Dr. AK Lal informed that 2888 samples were collected on Sunday of which 2836 were tested.

With Diwali and Chhath round the corner, district administration has started screening people at Railway Stations and entry points to the city. Administration has appealed the citizens to be extra cautious else it might prove to be super spreader.

The Coronavirus tally in Jamshedpur has risen to 51998.

With three fresh recoveries on Sunday, a total number of 50,913 patients have been discharged since the breakout while total active cases in Jamshedpur are 25.

Recovery rate is 97.91% while mortality rate is 2.04 %.

East Singhbhum district administration has conducted 656006 tests per million in the district. 

So far in Jamshedpur 1755858 samples have been collected out of which 1746289 have been tested and 1694291 have turned out to be negative. One death has been recorded in October due to the virus.
