Jamshedpur records minimum temperature of 11.7 degrees Celsius, clear and dry weather forecast ahead

Jamshedpur: IMD’s Ranchi Meteorological Centre has predicted clear and dry weather across Jharkhand over the next 72 hours. According to the forecast, the minimum temperature is expected to exhibit a slight rise initially, followed by a dip of two to three degrees Celsius, continuing the state’s characteristic winter fluctuation.

Highlighting the atmospheric conditions, the meteorological centre issued an alert for shallow to moderate fog in isolated areas across the state over the next 48 hours. This fog could potentially reduce visibility during early mornings and evenings, causing minor disruptions to road and rail traffic.

Temperature readings from key districts indicate a gradual upward trend in the minimum temperatures. Ranchi, the state capital, recorded a minimum of 12.1 degrees Celsius, while Jamshedpur was slightly cooler at 11.7 degrees Celsius. Daltonganj reported a minimum temperature of 11 degrees Celsius, and Bokaro registered the lowest among these cities at 10.5 degrees Celsius.

Despite the mild increase in temperatures, meteorologists noted the absence of significant synoptic activity over Jharkhand, which explains the prevailing stable weather conditions. However, weather systems in neighboring regions have been observed.

According to the Ranchi Meteorological Centre, an induced cyclonic circulation is currently positioned over West Rajasthan at an altitude of 1.5 km above mean sea level. Additionally, a separate cyclonic circulation lies over southeast Rajasthan at 0.9 km above mean sea level. These circulations are not expected to directly impact Jharkhand but may influence weather patterns in adjacent states.

Jharkhand’s winter season often experiences fluctuating temperatures and foggy conditions in January. Residents are advised to take precautions during early mornings and nights when fog is likely to affect visibility. Commuters should ensure adequate safety measures while traveling, especially on highways and during long-distance journeys.

The IMD’s prediction of a temperature drop in the coming days serves as a reminder to keep warm clothing at hand. Farmers across the state are also encouraged to stay updated on weather conditions, particularly as fog could impact agricultural activities like harvesting and irrigation.

As Jharkhand transitions through the latter half of winter, the clear and dry weather forecast provides a respite from extreme cold conditions, allowing residents to carry on with daily activities without significant disruptions.
