Jamshedpur Scorches at 39.6°C, State’s Highest Temperature

Jamshedpur: Heatwave-like conditions continue to grip Jharkhand as Jamshedpur recorded the state’s highest temperature at 39.6°C on Monday. Other key cities also faced intense heat, with Daltonganj (38.8°C) and Bokaro (37.5°C) trailing closely behind.

While Ranchi remained relatively moderate at 35.6°C, the lack of rainfall across the state has left residents struggling with dry and stifling conditions.

IMD Forecast: Intense Heat Ahead

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) warns that the heat will intensify. Forecasters predict that maximum temperatures will likely rise by 3 to 5 degrees Celsius over the next five days, potentially pushing several districts into severe heat stress.

Respite on the Horizon?

While the immediate outlook remains hot, the IMD has signaled slight relief later this week. Light thundershowers may hit isolated areas on Friday (April 17) and Saturday (April 18), offering a temporary break from the rising mercury.
