City records 99 new infections, 196 recoveries, 3 deaths
Jamshedpur, May 28: Jamshedpur on Friday clocked double digit Covid-19 infections for second straight day.
East Singhbhum district reported 99 positives while 196 people recovered of the virus while it also registered 3 coronavirus-related deaths.
Earlier on Thursday city recorded lowest daily Covid case total in two months with 67 fresh infections.
The overall death toll in the East Singhbhum has reached 1009 and the total cases 49660.It appears to be early signs that the more dangerous Covid wave is receding from the city. The Steel City’s case positivity rate has also dropped to 5.48 percent.
The positivity rate of Covid-19 cases in Jamshedpur is around 5.48 per cent after East Singhbhum conducted over 6000 tests in the last 24 hours. The Steel City tested 6410 samples, of which, 99 turned out positive while 196 people recovered from the Covid-19 on Friday, May 28.
Meanwhile, 3 deaths were recorded in the same duration. The continuous high number of tests have pushed the positivity rate further down to 5.48 per cent, the government data showed.
The recovery rate has climbed to 94.55% while the active cases have come down to 1793.
196 positive people recovered of the virus on Friday pushing the recovery mark to 46858.
Deaths due to the virus continue to be sign of worry as 3 people succumbed due to Covid on Friday, May 28, East Singhbhum Covid bulletin said.
City reported 3 deaths on Friday while district’s positive cases tally has mounted to 49660. According to the data provided by the East Singhbhum district health department on Friday 3 fatalities were due to the Covid-19 infection in the last 24 hours. The death toll has climbed to 1009.
East Singhbhum district administration has conducted 340545 test per million in the district.
As per the records of health department out of 6410 people who underwent Covid tests in East Singhbhum 99 were found positive.
Over 6000 COVID-19 tests, including 1913 RT-PCR and 4167 RAT were conducted in the last 24 hours in the city.
The recovery rate in Jamshedpur is 94.55% while the mortality rate is 2.03%.
So far in Jamshedpur 907198 samples have been collected out of which 906532 have been tested and 856872 have turned out to be negative.
