Jamshedpur: The minimum temperature will continue to witness a slight rise over the next five days, according to a forecast issued by IMD’s Ranchi Met Centre.
Meteorologists attribute the increase in minimum temperatures across Jharkhand to the Western Disturbances passing through the northern parts of the country. These disturbances typically obstruct the flow of north-westerly currents, which are responsible for the winter chill, leading to a dip in night temperatures. However, with their presence, temperatures are seeing a gradual rise.
Ranchi today recorded a minimum temperature of 13.6 degrees Celsius, while Jamshedpur recorded 16.2 degrees. Daltonganj experienced a minimum of 12.7 degrees Celsius, and Bokaro Steel City registered 12.5 degrees Celsius. Meanwhile, Gumla recorded the state’s lowest minimum temperature at 9.8 degrees Celsius.
All 24 districts across Jharkhand reported a rising trend in minimum temperatures, reflecting the impact of the prevailing weather systems.
A Western Disturbance, appearing as a cyclonic circulation over north Pakistan, remains active and is currently observed between 3.1 and 5.8 kilometers above mean sea level. Additionally, an induced cyclonic circulation is persisting over eastern Rajasthan at approximately 1.5 kilometers above mean sea level.
The IMD forecast further indicates that two new Western Disturbances are set to impact Northwest India on February 3 and February 8. These weather systems are expected to influence temperature patterns across the region in the coming days.
