Jamshedpur Ramnavami processions attract large crowds in spite of unrelenting heat

Jamshedpur, April 11: The unrelenting sun could not restrain the spirit of festivity and devotion as huge crowds and long processions on Monday turned out to be a surge of festive feelings that were pent up through the past two years of the COVID-19 infection fears.

The buzz of excitement grew with the sun about to dip on the western horizon.

The district and police administrations evoked kudos of citizens because of their safety plans that were in place long before the initial streams of Ramnavami processions started flowing.

The excitement was contagious and the pulse rates of procession participants and onlookers rose as the traditional drum beats gained in momentum.

No report of even minimal altercations and mishaps were received. There were refreshment kiosks set up by philanthropic organizations along almost every route.

Medical teams were also on standby. The Khaki Brigade was alert and kept a close watch for mischievous elements. Drones had been pressed into service to keep a hawk eye on the crowd.

At the end of an exciting day, the celebratory feeling lingered as people turned homewards with a feeling of satisfaction after two years of pandemic lull.
