Jamshedpur’s Central Ram Navami Akhara Committee fixes March 28 for the Shobha Yatra and immersion

The committee unanimously resolved to celebrate the festival with full grandeur and dignity, adhering strictly to Sanatan traditions. Grand processions (Shobha Yatras) will traverse the city, showcasing the vibrant glimpses of Sanatan culture. All Akhara committees will now hold local-level meetings to draft detailed action plans for peaceful and disciplined marches. The central committee confirmed that the processions and immersion ceremonies will take place on March 28, 2026.

Key Demands and Administrative Coordination

Several Akhara committees raised specific concerns and requested administrative intervention for a smooth festival:

  • Gauri Shankar Singh requested intensified cleanliness drives in the Panchayati areas.
  • Babua Akhara demanded that authorities open the gate to the former site for Navami puja.
  • River and Hygiene: Multiple committees, including those from Sonari, Golmuri, and Sundarnagar, emphasized the urgent need for river bank cleaning and general sanitation.

Central Committee President Ashutosh Singh assured the members that he is in constant dialogue with administrative officials to resolve these issues promptly.

Leadership Directives: Discipline and Inclusivity

Chief Patron Chandragupt Singh reminded the cadre that Jamshedpur’s Ram Navami is famous throughout Jharkhand for its discipline. He urged committees to maintain strict coordination with the police.

Patron Neeraj Singh issued a strong appeal for a drug-free environment, insisting that the processions remain sober and dignified. He specifically requested that only disciplined and devout individuals handle the ropes of the Ram Navami flags. Additionally, Ashutosh Singh encouraged the committees to boost women’s participation, noting that “Nari Shakti” is a vital carrier of Sanatan culture.

Tributes and Support

General Secretary Bhupendra Singh announced that central committee members will visit individual Akharas to review preparations and provide on-ground support. The meeting concluded with a two-minute silence to honour the memory of Ashok Gaur, the late director of the Narayan Goswami Akhara Committee.
