Jamshedpur Railway worker injured in self immolation dies

Jamshedpur, July 2: Bagbeda Traffic Colony resident and railway worker S.K Pillay died during treatment at TMH at 6.20 am on Sunday.

Being fed up with the action of Tatanagar RPF, SK Pillay attempted self-immolation on Wednesday evening by sprinkling kerosene on himself. However, he was admitted to TMH for immediate treatment where he was undergoing treatment.

Police has sent the dead body for postmortem. So far no complaint has been made in the police station in this matter.

Incidentally, on Wednesday, the team of Railway Land Department had reached the spot with RPF in a land dispute located in Traffic Colony. SK Pillay said that his father has taken the said land on lease from the Land Department, but the land is occupied by a person named Om Prakash  whereas in the land record the said land is in the name of Omprakash.

Regarding this, SK Pillay’s wife had earlier attempted self-immolation. However, at that time the RPF stopped his wife from doing so and caught the wife and both the daughters and took them to the police station. Later SK Pillay reached home and set himself on fire.
