Jamshedpur: Railway advisory meet discuss passengers convenience, safety

Jamshedpur, November 8. To know the problems of the passengers, a meeting of the Railway Advisory Committee was held on Wednesday in the Tatanagar Station Director’s Room.

This was the second meeting of the Railway Advisory Committee this year, in which the members of the Advisory Committee informed the railway officials about various problems related to passengers.

Along with this, convenience and security issues were discussed. The same railway officials informed the members about the action taken on earlier suggestions and complaints. In the meeting, discussions were mainly held regarding increasing the number of platforms, cleanliness, security and timing of trains.

The members demanded to increase the number of lifts and accelerators at the station, increase the length of the shed and get rid of the jam near the out gate. On which railway officials talked about taking positive initiatives.

In this regard, Tatanagar Regional Railway Manager (RRM) Harshit Oraon said that all the members gave suggestions from their respective sides. Efforts will be made to solve the above problems after listening to everyone.

 He said that in view of the increase in passenger load at Tatanagar station in recent times, the demand for increasing the number of platforms was raised in the meeting.

He assured that problems will be resolved by talking to the concerned agencies. On the problem of water logging in Jugsalai underpass, RRM said that steps will be taken soon to repair the road by holding a meeting with Tata Steel UISL and the concerned department of the state government.
