Jamshedpur, August 5: South Eastern Railway IG cum Principal Chief Security Commissioner DB Kasar visited Tatanagar railway station for security inspection. He reached here in his vehicle and was accorded a warm welcome by the Railway police officials.
Sources said the IG reviewed preparations for Independence Day celebrations and security arrangements at Tatanagar railway station.
During the visit, Kasar found the security scanning machine defunct. He sought explanation from the officials concerned and directed them to keep the machine in proper working condition round the clock. He also expressed displeasure over the use of entry gate for exit purpose by several passengers. He ordered the officials to stop the practice immediately. He stayed at the station for 45 minutes.
The IG praised the Tatanagar RPF team for arresting Manoj Mandal, member of the racket engaged in drugging and looting train passengers. He said the team led by RPF OC Sanjay Kumar Tiwary would be felicitated and rewarded for its good work.
