Jamshedpur: Punjab police arrests father-in-law on son-in-law’s complaint

Jamshedpur, Feb 6: Punjab police on Saturday arrested Inderjit Singh a resident of Jemco under Telco thana area on the basis of complaint lodged by his son-in-law.

The accused had a arrest warrant issued in his name from Tarn Tarn area of Punjahb in the Jhabal thana on the basis of complaint lodged by his son-in-law for cheating.

Punjab police had sent several notices to the accused for being present at Tarn Tarn but the accused did not give any reply and neither did present himself at Tarn Tarn.

Inderjit Singh daughter was married to a youth from Punjab and soon after marriage the couple went to Canada. In-laws took the burden of educating their daughter and sent her to Canada. In the year 2020 there was dispute between the couple and wife took a divorce and returned back to parents. It is alleged that in meeting education expense of their daughter-in-law they had spent Rs 25 lakh and they sought back this amount which led to dispute between the two sides. No attempts at mediation and compromise was successful and the matter reached police and after several summons an arrest warrant was issued against Inderjeet Singh.

Inderjeet was present before the Jamshedpur civil court and taken to Punjab on transit remand.
