Jamshedpur: Prominent theatre person Chandan Singh passes away

Jamshedpur, March 28: Death struck a cruel blow on World Theatre Day on Friday, March 27 when active, promising and dedicated theatre and film personality of the city, Chandan Singh breathed his last yesterday evening at the Meherbai Tata Cancer Hospital at 5 pm. Chandan was suffering from cancer and undergoing treatment since the last three years.

 The theatre and film fraternity of Jamshedpur was in a state of shock when news of Chandan�s death struck like lightening. Veteran performing media stalwarts like Hari Mittal, Md Nizam, Ravi Mishra, Krishna Sinha, Partho Mukherjee, Partho Bhattacharya, Amit Das, Shivlal Sagar, Siddharth Sen and many others were too shocked for words.

Apart from acting on stage, Chandan had directed many short and feature films with distinction thereby etching his name in the celluloid world too.

A resident of Moharda in Baridih, the 44 year old Chandan Singh leaves behind his wife Dolly, eight year old daughter Kasish and the entire performing community to whom he was like a family member. His funeral was performed today at the Swarnrekha crematorium in Sakchi.
