Jamshedpur: Prisoner dies in Ghaghidih Central Jail

Jamshedpur, Dec 21: A prisoner died in Ghaghidih Central Jail, Jamshedpur  under mysterious circumstances. He was a resident of Telco Barinagar and was suffering from the incurable disease AIDS. The relatives have accused the jail management of being negligent in treatment.

He was accused in the gang rape of a woman on 25 April 2011 at Telco Theme Park. Seven accused were sentenced to life imprisonment in the case. The post-mortem of the prisoner’s dead body was done on Tuesday on the orders of the District Deputy Commissioner, as per the rules of the Human Rights Commission, in the presence of the medical board’s team videography and the magistrate. The relatives of the deceased have been informed about this.

The prisoner’s health was bad in jail. He was under treatment. His health deteriorated. He was sent to MGM Hospital. He died on the way. The body was sent for post-mortem on Tuesday morning. It is known that a woman from Bengal had come to Telco Barinagar relative’s house with her husband. She went to the theme park with her husband.
