Jamshedpur, October 2: With the completion of the current term of the Jamshedpur Press Club, the existing committee was dissolved on Wednesday, October 2. It was decided that a new committee would be formed by October 20th through a formal election process, which will involve secret voting to elect the office bearers. The election schedule will be announced shortly.

This decision was made at the Annual General Meeting (AGM) of the Jamshedpur Press Club, held at the Chamber Bhavan, presided by senior member Braj Bhushan Singh. He has been entrusted with overseeing the entire election process. The assembly authorized him to lead the elections. Current President Prashant Singh Putul and General Secretary Anjani Pandey announced their resignation, as the committee’s tenure had officially ended.

An election committee was also formed to conduct the election. Braj Bhushan Singh was elected Chairman of this committee, with members including Arindam Sinha, Anand Kumar, Arun Kumar Singh, Dev Anand Singh, Shashi Bhushan Kumar, and Kumud Jenamuni. This committee will announce the dates for the election, including the nomination and withdrawal processes.

General Secretary Anjani Pandey presented the financial report for the fiscal year 2023-‘24, which was unanimously adopted by the house through a show of hands. Several attendees, including Rajesh Lal Das, Dev Anand Singh, Shashi Bhushan, Mantosh, Manoj Singh, C.H. Ramamurthy, Sandeep Savarn, Vinay Purti, Indrajeet Singh Pintu, Ratnesh Tiwari, Rupesh, Arindam Sinha, and Murari Singh, shared their views, emphasizing the need for elections rather than nominations to form the new committee.

Senior members Anand Kumar, Jai Prakash Rai, Arindam Sinha, and Siddhinath Dubey, who were present on the dais, expressed their satisfaction with the work done by the Jamshedpur Press Club over the last three years and congratulated the entire committee. The meeting was conducted in an extremely cordial atmosphere.

A large number of journalists from both urban and rural areas were present at the meeting.
