Jamshedpur: In a compassionate gesture, Potka MLA Sanjib Sardar intervened to help a financially distressed family by getting an outstanding hospital bill of ₹47,320 waived off, allowing their ailing son to be discharged from Tata Main Hospital (TMH).
Sameer Sardar, son of Kalicharan Sardar, a resident of Rangamatia village in Potka block, had been admitted to TMH after his health deteriorated severely. The hospital raised a total bill of ₹1,33,286, out of which the family managed to pay ₹85,966. However, due to financial limitations, they were unable to clear the remaining amount of ₹47,320. As a result, the hospital withheld the patient’s discharge, citing unpaid dues.
In their desperate hour, the family approached MLA Sanjib Sardar for help. The MLA immediately took cognizance of the situation and reached out to the TMH management. Following his direct intervention, the hospital authorities agreed to waive off the remaining dues, thereby enabling the patient’s discharge.
The act of kindness brought immense relief to the family, who expressed their heartfelt gratitude to the MLA. “When there is a leader like Sanjib Sardar, help becomes possible for everyone in society,” they said. Calling him a lifesaver in their moment of crisis, the family praised the MLA’s sensitivity and quick response to the issue.
